ChETEC-INFRA costituirà un network tra le tre diverse tipologie di infrastrutture su cui si basa l’indagine sull’origine degli elementi chimici nell’Universo: i laboratori astro-nucleari, che forniscono dati di sezioni d’urto di reazioni nucleari; i supercomputer, che eseguono calcoli di struttura stellare e nucleosintesi; i telescopi e gli spettrometri di massa, che raccolgono dati sull'abbondanza di elementi ed isotopi. L’INAF contribuirà a questa rete, che riunisce 32 istituzioni di 18 paesi europei, con le proprie competenze nella misura di abbondanze chimiche nelle stelle e nella modellizzazione dell’arricchimento chimico della Galassia.
