Title: | Magnetic Fields in Galaxy Clusters and in the Large-Scale Structure of the Universe | Authors: | VACCA, VALENTINA MURGIA, MATTEO GOVONI, FEDERICA Enßlin, Torsten Oppermann, Niels FERETTI, LUIGINA Giovannini, Gabriele LOI, FRANCESCA |
Issue Date: | 2018 | Journal: | GALAXIES | Number: | 6 | Issue: | 4 | First Page: | 142 | Abstract: | The formation and history of cosmic magnetism is still widely unknown. Significant progress can be made through the study of magnetic fields properties in the large-scale structure of the Universe: galaxy clusters, filaments, and voids of the cosmic web. A powerful tool to study magnetization of these environments is represented by radio observations of diffuse synchrotron sources and background or embedded radio galaxies. To draw a detailed picture of cosmic magnetism, high-quality data of these sources need to be used in conjunction with sophisticated tools of analysis. | URI: | http://hdl.handle.net/20.500.12386/28067 | URL: | https://www.mdpi.com/2075-4434/6/4/142 | ISSN: | 2075-4434 | DOI: | 10.3390/galaxies6040142 | Bibcode ADS: | 2018Galax...6..142V | Fulltext: | open |
