Title: | Anisotropías en el apagado de galaxias en las afueras de cúmulos | Authors: | Salerno, J. M. Martínez, H. J. Muriel, H. Coenda, V. Vulcani, Benedetta |
Issue Date: | 2020 | Journal: | BOLETÍN DE LA ASOCIACIÓN ARGENTINA DE ASTRONOMÍA | Number: | 61B | First Page: | 159 | Abstract: | We study the effects of the environment on galaxy quenching in the outskirts of clusters of the spectroscopic survey OmegaWINGS ($0.04 < z < 0.08$).We use the OmegaWINGS galaxies clusters that are linkedto other groups/clusters by filaments, and study separately galaxies located in two regions in the outskirts of these clusters according to whether they are located towards the filaments' directionsor not.We find a fraction of passive galaxies in the outskirts of clusters intermediate between thatof the clusters and the field. We find evidence of a more effective quenching in thedirection of the filaments. We also analyse the abundance of post-starburst galaxies in the outskirts of clustersfocusing our study on two extreme set of galaxies according to their phase-space position:backsplash galaxies and true infaller galaxies. | URI: | http://hdl.handle.net/20.500.12386/31079 | URL: | https://ui.adsabs.harvard.edu/abs/2020BAAA...61B.159S/abstract | ISSN: | 0571-3285 | Bibcode ADS: | 2020BAAA...61B.159S | Fulltext: | open |
