Title: | Euclid Near-Infrared Imaging Reduction Pipeline - Astrometric Calibration | Authors: | OLIVEIRA DA SILVA, Ronaldo | Issue Date: | 2018 | Number: | SSDC-TSR-EUC-001-2018 | Abstract: | Description of the processing element, as part of the NIR imaging reduction pipeline, that will be used to compute the astrometric solution associated to the Near-Infrared Spectrometer and Photometer (NISP) instrument of the Euclid space telescope. The astrometric calibration is performed by modeling the geometric distortions introduced by the instrument optics as well as by the focal plane metrology (detectors position an orientation). The search for the best astrometric solution is done by matching the sources extracted from the images, collected for a given filter of a given pointing and processed by the initial steps of the pipeline, with an external catalog of reference stars. | URI: | http://hdl.handle.net/20.500.12386/33708 | Fulltext: | reserved |
