Title: | Multi conjugate Adaptive optics Demonstrator, Layer Oriented Wave-Front Sensor conceptual design | Authors: | RAGAZZONI, Roberto DIOLAITI, EMILIANO FARINATO, JACOPO Viard, Elise ARCIDIACONO, CARMELO BARUFFOLO, Andrea |
Issue Date: | 2002 | Number: | OWL-TRE-INA-60000-0037 | Abstract: | The ESO Multi-Conjugate Adaptive Optics Demonstrator (MAD) has been identified as an essential component to demonstrate on sky MCAO techniques, both for the OWL 100-m telescope concept and for the ESO VLT 2nd Generation instrumentation. MAD is intended to be a Multi-Conjugate Adaptive Optics prototype to be tested at VLT Visitor Focus (UT3). It is conceived as a fast track project by re-using as much as possible key components developed in the scope of existing VLT AO systems. The scope of this document is to provide the conceptual design for the layer-oriented wave front sensor. | Note: | Discussed at the Multi-conjugate Adaptive optics Demonstrator (MAD) Layer Oriented WaveFront Sensor (LOWFS) Ccnceptual Design Review and revised for the Design Review both held in 2002. MAD was the European Southern Observatory (ESO) demonstrator of both Multi Conjugate Adaptive Optics (MCAO) technique in Star Oriented and Layer Oriented mode. | URI: | http://hdl.handle.net/20.500.12386/33753 | Fulltext: | reserved |
