Title: | Multi Conjugate Adaptive Optics Demonstrator, Layer Oriented WFS System Design Analysis | Authors: | ARCIDIACONO, CARMELO DIOLAITI, EMILIANO RAGAZZONI, Roberto Viard, Elise FARINATO, JACOPO BARUFFOLO, Andrea |
Issue Date: | 2003 | Number: | OWL-TRE-INA-60000-0064 | Abstract: | The ESO Multi-Conjugate Adaptive Optics Demonstrator (MAD) has been identified as an essential component to demonstrate on-sky MCAO techniques, both for the OWL 100-m telescope concept and for the ESO VLT 2nd Generation instrumentation. MAD is intended to be a Multi-Conjugate Adaptive Optics prototype to be tested at VLT. It is conceived as a fast-track project by re-using as much as possible key components developed in the scope of existing VLT AO systems. The scope of this document is to describe the estimated performances of MAD instrument using the layer-oriented wavefront sensor mode. | Note: | Discussed at the Multi-conjugate Adaptive optics Demonstrator (MAD) LayerOriented WaveFront Sensor (LOWFS) Final Design Review (2002) and revised for the Manufacture Readiness Review (2003). MAD was the European Southern Observatory (ESO) demonstrator of both Multi ConjugateAdaptive Optics (MCAO) techniques in Star Oriented and Layer Oriented modes looking forward to the ESO OverWhelmingly Large telescope (OWL). | URI: | http://hdl.handle.net/20.500.12386/33755 | Fulltext: | reserved |
