Abstract
The scope of this document is to evaluate the NISP science data budget using the results obtained in the ground-based test. The datasets used for the analysis are from LAM TV3, and CLS campaigns. The budget is calculated on a single detector base considering spectrometric, photometric, and photometric dark nominal acquisitions. Using these ground-based results a preliminary estimation for data produced during nominal NISP operations using different bases is done. i.e., single detector, single DPU, entire FPA, ROS cycles, etc. The results shown here should be used to estimate the NISP data budget during the commissioning and PV phases. For the former one a preliminary evaluation is given here.
The variability of the data size determination for any given NISP exposure comes from the results of the compression algorithm implemented by the DPU. The compression factor depends on the type of acquisition, and the mean values were obtained from the ground-based tests campaigns of the NISP instrument i.e., TV3 at NISP instrument level, and CLS TV/TB at PLM level.
