This innovative technique permits the study of energetic plasma by means of analysing the result of the interaction of this plasma with a neutral thermal population or with a surface. The main advantage, when compared to the direct ion detection, is that it is possible to have an instantaneous survey of the whole magnetosphere of a planet.ELETTRONICOenEnergetic Neutral Atom Imaging of Planetary EnvironmentsDoctoral thesisFIS/05 - ASTRONOMIA E ASTROFISICAERC sectors::Physical Sciences and Engineering::PE9 Universe sciences: astro-physics/chemistry/biology; solar systems; stellar, galactic and extragalactic astronomy, planetary systems, cosmology, space science, instrumentation
