The exceptional 39m diameter collecting area in combination with a powerful multi-conjugate adaptive optics system (called MAORY) brings the nominal centroiding error, which scales as FWHM/SNR, down to a few 10 μas. Here we show that an exceptional effort is needed to provide a system which delivers adequate and calibrateable astrometric performance over the full field of view (up to 53 arcsec diameter).ELETTRONICOenThe MICADO first light imager for ELT: its astrometric performanceConference paper10.1117/12.23120692-s2.0-85052625639000452664300231https://www.spiedigitallibrary.org/conference-proceedings-of-spie/10702/2312069/The-MICADO-first-light-imager-for-ELT--its-astrometric/10.1117/12.2312069.full2018SPIE10702E..90PFIS/05 - ASTRONOMIA E ASTROFISICA
