The role of this SKA prototype is placed within the perspective of the overall SKA project. The dual-polarized log-periodic SKALA4.1 antenna elements comprising a station are briefly described, along with some considerations regarding the station. Computational simulation aspects are considered, and preliminary results shown. An appraisal of the implications for station-level calibration concludes the paper.STAMPAenElectromagnetic modelling of the SKA-LOW AAVS1.5 prototypeConference paper10.1109/ICEAA.2019.88792942-s2.0-85074900149https://ieeexplore.ieee.org/document/8879294FIS/05 - ASTRONOMIA E ASTROFISICAERC sectors::Physical Sciences and Engineering::PE9 Universe sciences: astro-physics/chemistry/biology; solar systems; stellar, galactic and extragalactic astronomy, planetary systems, cosmology, space science, instrumentation::PE9_17 Instrumentation – telescopes, detectors and techniques
