This allowed simulating in the laboratory the physico-chemical modifications induced in icy objects in space, exposed to radiation fields such as the solar wind, magnetospheric particles and interstellar cosmic rays. We briefly discuss sputtering, destruction and formation of molecules, amorphization and compaction, implantation, and finally the formation of organic molecules. This latter topic is related to the question of the initial conditions for the emergence of life.STAMPAenRadiation effects in astrophysical icesConference paper10.1088/1742-6596/629/1/0120082-s2.0-84938630875000359790700008https://iopscience.iop.org/article/10.1088/1742-6596/629/1/012008/meta2015JPhCS.629a2008BFIS/05 - ASTRONOMIA E ASTROFISICAScienze Fisiche Settori ERC (ERC) di riferimento::PE9 Universe sciences: astro-physics/chemistry/biology; solar systems; stellar, galactic and extragalactic astronomy, planetary systems, cosmology, space science, instrumentation
