Abstract
Data acquired in IBIS Compton mode are contaminated by 'fake Compton' events generated by random coincidences between ISGRI and PICsIT uncorrelated events. In this paper we show how to compute the number of random coincidences, using two independent methods, and we present also a method for the subtraction of the random coincidences from the Compton data. Key words: ISGRI; COMPTON; INTEGRAL.
