Abstract
The aim of this work is to verify the Geant4 simulation of optical photons, in particular their interaction with optical surfaces through comparison with analytical models. We built a schematic version of the COSI ACS, reproducing the same work of Alvarez Franco’s master thesis and studied the transmission, reflection and absorption probabilities as functions of the angle of incidence. We also reproduced the same simulation for a system of two scintillators glued together and tested the transmissivity of different types of glues as a function of the photon energy.
