Title: | Evolution of angular-momentum-losing exoplanetary systems | Authors: | Damiani, C. LANZA, Antonino Francesco |
Issue Date: | 2015 | Volume: | European Planetary Science Congress 2015 (EPCS) | First Page: | EPSC2015-730 | Abstract: | We assess the importance of tidal evolution and its interplay with magnetic braking in the population of hot-Jupiter planetary systems. We show that the longterm evolution of planets orbiting F- and G-type stars is significantly different owing to the combined effect of magnetic braking and tides. Angular momentum loss has to be taken into account when constraining tidal evolution in close planetary systems. | Conference Name: | European Planetary Science Congress 2015 (EPCS) | Conference Place: | Nantes, France | Conference Date: | 27 September-2 October, 2015 | URI: | http://hdl.handle.net/20.500.12386/23957 | URL: | https://meetingorganizer.copernicus.org/EPSC2015/EPSC2015-730.pdf https://www.epsc2015.eu/ |
