GASP targets 100 galaxies with tails, tentacles and one-sided debris. MUSE data allows a detailed investigation of the ionized stripped gas, as well as of the gas and stars within the galaxy out to large distances from the galaxy center. We show the first results for two of the GASP galaxies that are striking cluster jellyfish galaxies of stellar masses ~ 1011 M ☉ | Titolo del convegno: | Formation and Evolution of Galaxy Outskirts | Luogo del convegno: | Toledo, Spain | Periodo del convegno: | 14-18 March, 2016 | URI: | http://hdl.handle.net/20.500.12386/27218 | URL: | https://www.cambridge.org/core/journals/proceedings-of-the-international-astronomical-union/article/gasp-gas-stripping-and-the-outskirts-of-galaxies-as-a-function-of-environment/8E86C371CC278422FBF8A8A3ED556FC4 | ISSN: | 1743-9213 | ISBN: | 978-1-107-16988-3 | DOI: | 10.1017/S1743921316009388 | Bibcode ADS: | 2017IAUS..321..202P | Fulltext: | open |
