We find a strong correlation between these two quantities. On average, the ratio between the radio continuum and the CO emission is constant (within a factor 3) both inside the same galaxy and from galaxy to galaxy. The star formation efficiency deduced from the radio continuum depends weakly on general galaxy properties. A comparison is made with another similar analysis performed using the H alpha luminosity as star formation indicator. | Titolo del convegno: | Galaxy Evolution: Theory & Observations | Luogo del convegno: | Cozumel, Quintana Roo, México | Periodo del convegno: | April 8-12, 2002 | URI: | http://hdl.handle.net/20.500.12386/32832 | URL: | http://www.astroscu.unam.mx/RMxAC/vol17.html | ISSN: | 1405-2059 | Bibcode ADS: | 2003RMxAC..17...90G | Fulltext: | open |
