A preliminary work of fine tuning of each sub-system has been performed in Italy before their shipping to Paranal, where they are waiting for the telescope AIV to be completed in a way to start the final commissioning of the overall system. Each unit has been extensively characterized and tested, with particular care to the Active Optics Shack-Hartmann sensor and to the Auto-Guiding arm. We describe here the phases concerning the integration and test of all the VST Auxiliary Units performed in Italy before their shipping to Paranal. | Conference Name: | Ground-based and Airborne Telescopes III | Conference Place: | San Diego, California, United States | Conference Date: | 2010 | URI: | http://hdl.handle.net/20.500.12386/34728 | URL: | https://www.spiedigitallibrary.org/conference-proceedings-of-spie/7733/1/The-VST-auxiliary-units--a-status-report-before-their/10.1117/12.857984.short | ISSN: | 0277-786X | ISBN: | 9780819482235 | DOI: | 10.1117/12.857984 | Bibcode ADS: | 2010SPIE.7733E..59F | Fulltext: | open |
