Abstract
This paper presents a summer camp organized in 2018 as part of the national educational program (PON) “Social Inclusion and the Fight Against Marginalization”. The initiative, based on digital storytelling with Scratch, involved 18 male and 12 female lower secondary school students in a project dedicated to the exploration of the planet Mars. Its main objectives were to address socio-economic disadvantages in a suburban area of a major metropolitan city and to challenge gender stereotypes that continue to hinder girls' access to STEM disciplines. Additionally, the project aimed to strengthen key competencies outlined in the reference framework set by the European Parliament.
